Are YOU making one of these DEADLY mistakes when it comes to losing weight?

Have you ever felt like you’re doing EVERYTHING under the sun to try to lose weight, and still not seeing results?

Chances are, you could be sabotaging yourself or you’re following misguided advice/information.

Check out the 5 WORST mistakes you can make while trying to lose weight:

1. YOU UNDERESTIMATE HOW MUCH FOOD (HOW MANY CALORIES) YOU ARE EATING. This happens ALL THE TIME! You truly *believe* you are eating 1 cup of pasta, but if you were to measure it out, you’re actually eating more than one cup of pasta. When in doubt, OVER-ESTIMATE the amount of food you’re eating so you’re positive you’re in a calorie deficit.

2. YOU DON’T COUNT EVERY B.L.T. Alright friends… BLT = Bites, Licks, & Tastes. I can’t tell you HOW many women I talk to who eat nutritiously 75% of the day, but the last 25% of the day they are taking a bite of their kid’s mac and cheese… or tasting those french fries… or having one or two bites of brownie. ALL of those BLT’s add up quickly over time.

3. YOU OVERESTIMATE HOW MANY CALORIES YOU’RE BURNING. Unless your job keeps you extremely busy on your feet, chances are you are burning less calories than you think during your workouts. We all WISH that we burning 500-800 calories during a 45 minute workout, but that’s not what usually happens. I recommend wearing a heart rate monitor to learn exactly how many calories you’re burning throughout the day… And NO, the apple watch isn’t always accurate

4. YOU’RE BEING TOO RESTRICTIVE. So here’s the thing about weight loss… YES, you need to eat fewer calories than your body burns… BUT there’s a fine line. If you become TOO restrictive, your body shuts down and turns on starvation mode… Which means it clings to every fat cell you have left. Or, you become so restrictive that you end up binging on non-nutritious foods because you feel miserable.

5. YOU FORGET ABOUT PATIENCE AND CONSISTENCY! Eating nutritiously for 1-2 weeks and then expecting the scale to change ISN’T how it always happens. As I continuously remind my clients, it took you more than 2 weeks to gain the weight… It’s going to take a heck of a lot longer to lose it too! Be 10 times more patient and consistent than you need to be and you’ll see results.
