Two of the hardest pills to swallow when it comes to weight loss

No one said weight loss would be easy! Let's be real most things truly worth it aren't easy! Am I right?

There will be some hard truths you need to accept before you can achieve your weight loss goals.

Once you’re able to accept and embody these truths, your journey will become easier because you’ll be prepared for the inevitable challenges.

Check out two of the hardest pills to swallow that are necessary to understand to create a healthier life and reach those weight loss goals:

1. To reach ANY goal in life (including weight loss and becoming healthier), you need to accept that your journey won’t always be easy. You need to learn how to show up for yourself and take action on the hard days, especially when you don’t feel motivated. EVERYONE who loses weight or creates a healthier life hits bumps in the road. Prepare for setbacks and challenges to happen, and create a game plan ahead of time for when these challenges arise. Don't give up you can still do it!

2. Most vegetables don’t taste as delicious as cookies, or chips, or ice cream, or candy… And they probably never will! Here’s why — processed foods (including desserts) taste so damn delicious because they contain added sugar, fats, and carbs, which means they contain more calories and fewer nutrients than vegetables. These foods are created by food manufacturers to taste delicious and leave you wanting more. Natural foods, like vegetables, are packed with nutrients and contain fewer calories than processed foods, which helps you to feel more energized and more full. Yet they don’t always taste as delicious as foods packed with sugar and fats.

A friendly little reminder - this doesn't mean that you can never enjoy cookies or chips or ice cream and lose weight!!! Instead, I'm trying to highlight the idea that food companies add plenty of less-nutritious ingredients to processed foods so THAT they taste amazing! Remember that you can fit ANY food into a sensible nutrition plan, as long as most of your food choices come from nutritious foods.

At the end of the day, losing weight and becoming healthier means choosing foods that promote optimal health at times, versus *always* choosing foods based on your cravings or because they taste amazing.

Are you ready to accept these two truths and be on your way to a healthier better you?
