Do you put gas in your car EVERY single time you drive past a gas station?!

I would bet $100 that your answer is NO!

Chances are you wait until your car NEEDS gas in order to fill it up!

Why don’t we treat our bodies the same way in regards to our hunger levels?!

It doesn't matter whether my clients are focusing on habit change OR on counting macros, this is ONE (of the many) important skills that I teach my clients.

And if you're trying to lose weight, it's a skill you MUST learn too!

Eating ANYTIME you’re not hungry, whether it's because you have macros leftover OR because food is available, is NOT honoring your body, and will NOT help you lose weight long-term.

This is one of the MASSIVE problems with cookie-cutter diets and strict meal plans. They NEVER honor your bodies’ true needs. How do you break the habit of eating when not hungry? You learn to trust yourself by asking important questions:

- Am I actually hungry?
- How hungry am I?
- What do I want to eat?
- How will I feel after eating this?
- Can I wait another 30 minutes before eating?

You may be wondering WHY you should wait another 30 minutes… Waiting for MORE hunger teaches you that HUNGER IS NOT AN EMERGENCY.

You need to experience true hunger in order to learn mindfulness.

In today's world, there is often FEAR around feeling hungry… SO many of us are scared that if we get TOO hungry, we’ll spiral into a full-blown binge. It’s normal to feel that way, but this thought process simple reinforces an unhealthy mindset... One of a food-obsessed person who wants to be in constant control.

I encourage you to start practicing mindfulness as a daily habit. What’s the worst that happens?! The strict meal plans and restrictive food rules will always be there.

What question can YOU commit to asking yourself today to help practice mindful eating?
