Are you a CHEATER?!

And NO, I’m not referring to someone who cheats on a test… Or on their significant other!

I am referring to someone who regularly eats “cheat meals.“

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m a huge believer in enjoying your favorite foods in moderation! I don’t have a problem at all with indulging... I DO have a problem with the term “cheat meal.”

Here’s my issue with it — The word “cheat” messes up your relationship with food. That word already has a negative connotation in our minds. It automatically makes us feel BAD and GUILTY for enjoying our favorite foods!

You should NEVER feel bad or guilty for enjoying your favorite foods in moderation!

If you’re currently a “meal cheater,” I encourage you to change your language and improve your relationship with food! Instead of thinking that you’re cheating on yourself, try using the terms “non-nutritious meal,” “best-self meal,” or “play meal” when OCCASIONALLY enjoying your favorite not-so-healthy foods.

Have YOU ever caught yourself saying “cheat meal”? I definitely have before!
