Is it just me, or do you think diets STINK?!
Here’s my problem with diets:
- They DON’T LAST. They all have a start and a stop date. Once the end date hits, you tend to go back to your old ways and gain all the weight back
- They eliminate certain foods or food groups, which leads to feelings of deprivation… And we all know that deprivation usually leads to over-eating.
- They lead to a stressed relationship with food because you view foods as being “good” or “bad”
- Dieting affects your physical and mental health. If you’re eliminating entire food groups, your body doesn’t receive the proper nutrients it needs to maintain optimal health. Plus, when you “cheat” on your diet, you feel guilty and ashamed… Which leads you down the self-hating rabbit hole.
- While on a diet, your entire life revolves around food. What do you do at pizza night with friends? What about your work lunch that caters pasta? In both of these examples, FOOD is your focus… Not your friends or your work, both of which are more important than food!
You simply CAN’T win on fad diets. They DO NOT WORK for long-term weight loss.
Listen up friends — Dieting is not your answer to losing weight and gaining confidence and energy!
What you ACTUALLY need is to create a realistic lifestyle change that allows you to create habits that support leading a healthy life…. While STILL enjoying your favorite foods and drinks!
