Do you eat CLEAN?

I DON’T!

Here’s why…

First off, WHAT the heck does eating “clean” even mean?!

Seriously, the definition of that word is different for everyone based on your own individual preferences!

For some people, organic chicken breasts may be considered “clean.” But I guarantee that vegetarians and vegans don’t consider chicken to be a “clean” option for their meals.

My next question for the “clean” eaters out there... Are foods you DON’T consider to be clean considered to be “dirty”?!

If so, then considering foods to be “clean” can negatively affect your relationship with food. Personally, if I were to use the term “clean,” then every time I ate a “dirty” food like a cheeseburger, I would feel GUILTY for not eating a “clean” option. Anyone else?!?!

Here’s the truth — There should NEVER be any guilt associated with occasionally enjoying your favorite foods and drinks in moderation. At the end of the day, foods are NOT clean or dirty.

Instead of focusing on foods being clean or dirty, I recommend focusing on nutritional value. At the end of the day, all foods are simply more nutritious or less nutritious. Chicken has the exact same nutrients whether you eat meat or are vegetarian/vegan. It’s your personal CHOICE to eat or to not eat chicken.

Plus, there are NO emotions attached to the terms more-nutritious or less-nutritious, so it lessens the chances of developing an unhealthy obsession or relationship with food.
