If there was a book covering the BEST nutritional advice to lose weight, it would probably be 19,594 pages long with all of the words in size 4 font.
Seriously, the amount of information out there about the “BEST” ways to lose weight is MINDBLOWING and often times, wildly inaccurate!
“Don’t eat bread, carbs make you fat!”
“Don’t eat sugar, it’ll cause obesity and you’ll die!”
“Soda and diet soda are full of chemicals that lead to cancer…”
“You eat animal products? You’re a murderer!”
At the end of the day, almost ALL of the popular diets out there are in contradiction to each other. And it’s created a diet culture full of self-righteousness, money-making schemes, and downright confusion.
Plus, there is NO regulation whatsoever to expose the lies from the truth.
Millions of people are struggling with deprivation from banning food groups (I’m talking about CARBS) and all desserts because they are told that these foods specifically cause fat gain, without even DISCUSSING the idea of calories consumed vs. calories burned.
This post is a friendly reminder from your neighborhood weight loss coach to EDUCATE YOURSELF.
The amount of information out there that is often taken out of context is downright FALSE and MISLEADING.
Ask yourself these questions:
Is the program you’re doing to lose weight REALLY sustainable long-term? Or is it like a quick fix like a band-aid... Does it really solve the deeper issues you need to address.
Are you basing your beliefs on actual scientific evidence and findings, or simple correlations, tabloid magazines, advice from others, and Netflix documentaries.
Have you found what works best for YOU and YOUR LIFE.
The healthy habits, nutritional choices, and long-term weight loss strategies that work for your neighbor or your best friend or your sister are probably VERY different from the habits that YOU need to create to succeed losing weight and still living & enjoying YOUR life. And that’s what makes life BEAUTIFUL!
Please remember that you have the power and responsibility to LEARN what’s true for you, to CHOOSE the nutritional choices that work best for you and your life, and to understand what info out there is part of the BS diet culture.
