Watch your WORDS

The words you choose to describe your body, your nutrition choices and your LIFE directly reflect how you view your body and your life.

I often see women labeling foods as “good” or “bad.”
Or they eat something non-nutritious and call themselves a “screw up.”
Or they tell themselves “I must restrict carbs in order to lose weight.”

Using words with a negative connotation (like the examples I just listed) often leads to a stressful relationship with food, intense food cravings, and extreme guilt when enjoying your favorite non-nutritious foods.

If you’re someone who struggles with any of these feelings, I encourage you to implement this ONE tip:

Instead of using the word RESTRICT, use the word RESTRAINT.

RESTRICTING your favorite foods on your weight loss journey simply leads to binging, feelings of guilt, and often leads to resentment.

RESTRAINING from favorite foods (at times) allows you to take RESPONSIBILITY for your choices and your goals. Plus, it empowers you to BE SUCCESSFUL long-term.

I won’t lie… It’s SCARY and DIFFICULT in the beginning to say NO to non-nutritious foods at times. But once you’re able to say NO to non-nutritious foods sometimes (you can STILL enjoy occasionally), you begin to TRUST YOURSELF.

Plus, you begin to lose weight, feel more energized, and see REAL RESULTS! Once that happens, the scariness and difficulty disappear.
